Tahir Bilgic is an award winning internationally acclaimed stand-up comedian, a Logie winning actor as well as a writer, director and producer. He is known for his hugely popular live performances, as well as an impressive collection of credits spanning multiple highly successful television shows. Tahir is, quite simply, one Australia’s greatest and most recognised comedians.

Over the course of his career, Tahir has written, directed and starred in over a dozen major stage shows. Lord of the Kebabs, an ensemble piece of sketches and stand-up, enjoyed over 100 performances, and was seen collectively by 20,000 people all across the nation. Other live stage shows include Hollywood Kebabs, Live and Circumcised and Straight Outta Compo, with more on the way!

Tahir has also appeared many times on television, as a performer, actor and guest, on shows such as Rove Live, The Footy Show, All Saints, Housos, Swift and Shift Couriers, Thank God You’re Here, the Librarians, Bogan Hunters and Foxtel’s thecomedychannel.

When the hit SBS comedy Pizza entered its fourth series, Tahir joined its cast as the womanising drug-dealer Habib, and instantly cemented himself as one of the show’s best loved characters. Habib was so popular, in fact, that he soon demanded his own live stage production – leading to the sell-out smash, Habib on Parole. The character “Habib”, is one of the most hilarious and popular characters ever seen on Australian television. Tahir then went on to co-write and star in several feature length movies with the Pizza team, such as Fat Pizza, Housos Vs Authority, and Fat Pizza Vs Housos. The Fat Pizza movie, which enjoyed one of the all-time most successful opening weekends ever for an Australian movie release.

Tahir was also co-creator of the acclaimed Channel 9 sitcom Here Come The Habibs and was a contestant on the 2019 season of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. And according to his biography, Tahir is currently in talks to host his own television show, and has recently signed on to star and produce his own movie, with production to commence shortly.

We chat about his world record, his love of comedy, his previous life as a teacher, going with the flow, finding out who you are, why he’s so happy, his growth and forward moving mindset, being the world’s best worst magician, timing and luck.

The video footage of this entire chat is now out as well (one day after release)! So check them out on YouTube under Michael Kahan
