Justine Sless is a comedian, writer and former creative director
of the Melbourne Jewish Comedy Festival. Justine is completing her
masters by research in creative writing – specifically regarding
gender and comedy. Justine has performed in Australia, Europe and
the UK. She has taught comedy, written about comedy in short
stories, academic journals and online forums in the UK and
Australia.
It's a really interesting podcast, where we talk about Justine, who
is a immigrant and a mother and the journey of becoming a comedian
and what comedy means to her. We also chat about her research in
gender and comedy, loneliness, fear, failure and humiliation,
comedy and homelessness, her Jewish identity and whether it’s ok to
talk about rape on stage.
